Where hip pain comes from
Tight or weak hip muscles, lower back and pelvic joint problems, and overuse from running or sports are common causes. Arthritis in the hip joint is a different problem that needs a different plan.
How Dr. Broome treats it
- An exam of the hip, pelvis and lower back
- Adjustments and mobilization for the pelvis and lower back
- Soft tissue work for the hip muscles
- Strength and mobility exercises
When to see an orthopaedic specialist instead
If the exam points to arthritis or damage inside the hip joint, SROSM's hip specialists are in the same practice, including our joint replacement team. How to tell
Common questions
Is my hip pain arthritis?
Groin pain, stiffness after sitting and trouble putting on shoes can point to hip arthritis. Dr. Broome will check and refer you to an orthopaedic specialist if needed.
